GHK-CU
Peptides
GHK-Cu (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine Copper) is a naturally occurring copper peptide found in the body that plays a crucial role in tissue regeneration, skin repair, and overall healing. It is commonly used by biohackers, bodybuilders, and individuals looking to improve skin health, hair growth, and wound healing. Unlike many other compounds, GHK-Cu is non-hormonal and works by enhancing the body's natural repair mechanisms.
How it works:
GHK-Cu works by binding to copper ions and activating a wide range of healing and regenerative processes in the body. It stimulates collagen and elastin production, promotes angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), reduces inflammation, and increases antioxidant activity. These effects make it highly effective for skin rejuvenation, hair regrowth, and tissue repair.
How to use it:
Dosing for Skin and Hair Benefits:
Topical Application: GHK-Cu is commonly used in concentrations of 0.1% to 2% in serums, creams, or sprays for skin and hair benefits.
Injectable Use: Doses typically range from 50 mcg to 200 mcg per day, depending on individual goals.
Cycle Length: GHK-Cu can be used long-term, but most people cycle it for 4-8 weeks before taking a break to assess its effectiveness.
Benefits:
Enhanced Skin Repair and Anti-Aging: GHK-Cu boosts collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer, more youthful-looking skin while reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
Accelerated Wound Healing: It plays a critical role in tissue regeneration by promoting cell growth and reducing inflammation, making it effective for healing injuries, burns, and scars.
Increased Hair Growth: GHK-Cu has been shown to stimulate hair follicles, improve scalp health, and promote thicker, healthier hair growth. It is commonly used as a topical or injectable treatment for hair loss.
Reduced Inflammation and Oxidative Stress: The peptide has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, protecting cells from damage and enhancing overall tissue health.
Improved Joint and Muscle Recovery: Some users report faster recovery from muscle soreness and joint injuries due to its ability to promote cellular repair and regeneration.
Potential Side Effects:
I personally haven’t experienced any side effects, but every individual is different. Here are the only side effects I have heard of:
Mild Skin Irritation: Some users experience slight irritation, redness, or itching when applying GHK-Cu topically. This can often be avoided by using a lower concentration or applying it with a moisturizer.
Temporary Blue Tint on Skin: Because GHK-Cu binds to copper, some topical applications may leave a faint blue tint on the skin, which fades quickly.
Mild Headaches: A few users have reported mild headaches when using GHK-Cu, particularly when injected. Staying hydrated and using lower doses initially may help prevent this.
My Experience:
I have been using injectable GHK-Cu for a couple of weeks now and the results have been decent. My skin feels healthier and more resilient, and I’ve noticed a subtle but noticeable improvement in recovery after training. I'm personally using 250-500 mcg each time. As always, DYOR first and see if it’s the right decision for you. DM me on Instagram if you have any questions!
